General Laborer
Job Summary: Performs preparation work on column components; and component parts for cleaning; performs parts cleaning; assembles shafts and carriers. APPLY NOW

Essential Functions:

Operates Cuda parts washer.
Assembles steering shafts to required lengths.
Assembles carriers.
Performs preparation work on machined parts to be sent to plater and buffer.
Cleans machine parts, chrome machine parts and buffed machine parts.
Assembles chrome and buffed parts.
Operates manual lathe and mill as needed; assists lathe and mill operators as necessary.
De-burrs parts.
Broaches adaptors.
Runs parts tumbler.
Runs drill press, sander, grinder, and sand blaster.
Conducts Quality checks as required for ISO 9001:2015.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to assemble and disassemble components.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to multi-task
Good eye for detail.
Ability to produce quality product in a productive manner.

Working Conditions:

Climate controlled shop environment with heat and air conditioning.
Involves standing and sitting.
May involve stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling.
Also involves working with cleaning chemicals.

Tools and/or Equipment Used:

Runs Cuda parts washing equipment.
Uses variety of hand tools, drill press, grinders, and sanders.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent degree or less than high school with vocational related classes.
Six months previous experience in shop setting, preferably working on assembly/disassembly of parts and components.
Preferred prior experience with drill press, sander, grinder, and sand blaster.

Success Factors:

Ability to perform quality cleaning, assembly and disassembly procedures.
Ability to problem solve.
Ability to identify where assembly, disassembly and cleaning processes may be improved.
Good self-starter.
