1955-56 Chevrolet Tri-Five Electronic Power Steering Assist Kit

EPAS Performance electric power steering kits provide modern power steering for your 1955-56 Chevrolet. Precut, premodified IDIDIT columns in floor shift model only. This kit will not work for vehicles whose column shift system uses an internal shifting rod. Vehicles with an external shifting rod can be modified to work with the EPAS system. For Steering Rack equipped vehicles please contact us before placing your order as we will need additional information to complete your order. We will need to know what size shaft is used to get from the rack to the firewall in order to attempt to adapt to it. The kit does not come with additional linkages to reach the rack; these must be purchased separately.
How the systems work: The computer measures the amount of effort on the steering wheel and amplifies it with the aid of the electric motor. A potentiometer allows you to have more or less assistance, so you can adjust the amount of power assist. For example, you can have maximum power assist while on a parking lot, and less on the highway.
